Nail Collection Kit

In many cases, valuable evidence such as skin cells, fibers, or hairs from the perpetrator can be found under the victim’s fingernails. For those who prefer to clip off the fingernails, we offer a sterile metal fingernail clipper contained in a labeled plastic vial. For those who prefer to scrape under the nails, we offer a sterile wooden scraper with a chisel point in a labeled plastic tube. With either method, remove the device, collect the sample, return the device and potential evidence to the tube, recap, and send to the laboratory for testing.

The kit contains:

• Collection Instruction
• Two sterile individually wrapped clippers
• Two individually wrapped sterile wood nail scrapers
• Chain of custody envelope for packaging 
• Evidence tape to seal the envelope
